For those of you that didn’t know, I’ve been living out of my suitcase and bouncing around from city to city, apartment to apartment, and couch to couch (sometimes beds) since mid July. This was a decision I made not because I couldn’t afford rent, but because nothing was holding me back from trying something new. I honestly got tired of paying a massive amount of money just to live in one city all the time and do the same things everyday (as in going to castings on repeat). I wanted to see where life might take me and had dreams of seeing/doing more. Well I did exactly what I dreamed of by visiting numerous cities (Miami, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia) and even a new country (Argentina). I have to say it’s been an interesting, unstable, and uncomfortable ride at many points, but I’m glad I did it.
I’d have to say the moral of the story is don’t let anything hold you back from doing what you want to do, even if that means sacrificing your comfort to do so. Honestly what’s the worst that can happen, and you won’t know until you try! Also, one of the main things I learned from living out of a suitcase is just how little of things/pieces of clothing I actually need to live. Don’t get me wrong sometimes I want new things and need to get an item out of my storage unit, but honestly id rather carry less around with me and take more experiences in. Lastly, those packing cubes in the picture are made out of recycled plastic bottles and have been a organizational lifesaver. Without them I’m not sure I would have been able to keep my sanity, and they are one of the best investments I’ve made recently.
