Today was the fall day I’ve been waiting for. As if being Captain Planet for Halloween yesterday wasn’t already amazing enough, today things got even better because it was the start of the holiday season and World Vegan Day. Naturally I didn’t feel like I needed to do anything special since it’s vegan day everyday in my world, but since I had no castings or jobs I decided to seize the opportunity to play in some leaves and celebrate at one of my favorite vegan restaurants in the city Beyond Sushi.
If you didn’t know the restaurant is 100% plant based with a forward-thinking menu, and I’m not talking about basic avocado rolls. I’m talking about vibrant sushi, dumplings, rice paper wraps, salads and noodle soups. Honestly I’ve tried out a lot of different vegan places in the city, but beyond sushi is one place I keep coming back to for more, especially for the “the badge” dumplings and “the sunnyside” sushi roll.
Not only is it as satisfying as sushi made with fish and much more filling because it’s made out of plants (aka more fiber), but the prices are cheaper than most sushi restaurants in the city. I was also very excited to hear that they are opening locations on the west coast soon too so if you live out there be on the lookout!
