Sometimes when I’m reading a book or watching a movie I will come across a part in it that will instantly make me more connected to it because I can relate to what was said in some sort of way. I recently had that happen to me this past weekend when I watched a movie on my plane ride back to LA, and the quote “things that matter are hard” stood out to me. This is something that has definitely been on my mind a lot lately because I’ve realized that when you actually care about something it takes a lot more work than when you don’t care. Although it can be applied to many aspects of my life, I deal with it specifically on a daily basis in trying to live a more sustainable / ethical lifestyle. It’s definitely not easy at times, however I’ve learned to embrace the struggle and I feel good when I make those choices.
Over the past few years I’ve made the choice to take the time to educate myself, to choose ethical brands, and to choose quality over quantity especially when it comes to buying clothes. Now, I’m challenging you to do the same with the Dress like you care campaign that one of my agency’s, Role Models Mgmt & Who Cares Chronicles has teamed up for. All you have to do is pick at least 1 of the 10 commandments of responsible consumption that you follow and spread it to three of your friends. The goal of this campaign is to make more people aware of the changes you can easily make to start making a difference. It is said that some people’s weakness is that they care too much, but I believe that it can also be your strength because in the end that is how change is made!
