The easiest thing you can do to help save the Amazon

Although it hasn’t been covered nearly as much as other recent major fires (for instance the Notre Dame cathedral), the Amazon Rainforest is on fire and it’s a big problem. The Amazon has experienced more than 80% more fires in 2019 than in the same period last year, and since the forest produces about 20% of the world’s oxygen if it is irrevocably damaged, it could start emitting carbon instead which is the major driver of climate change.

Now yes it is dry season right now, but the thing is many of these fires were started deliberately by farmers who are clearing land for cattle ranching to produce more meat. If you didn’t know rainforest beef is typically found in fast-food hamburgers or processed beef products so if you are wondering how to help the Amazon as you watch the fires burn from 1,000’s of miles away, and don’t quite have the money to donate then just start reducing your beef consumption!

Look theres a lot of things in this world we can’t control, and it seems like there is a new problem everyday which can get very overwhelming, but the thing is we have the power to create an impact with what we consume. Now a lot of people have different reasons why they are vegan, and yes it has so many benefits especially to your health which is great, but honestly I live the way I live now for the planet because without it neither we nor the animals exist. Lastly, I don’t make this post to preach I just make this post to inform you that you too can make a difference!
